Important stuff

You need to read and understand the following before proceeding to make your trip reservations. Please go thru this carefully and when you have read and understood everything here, then go to the bottom of the page to continue the process of making your reservations and paying your deposit.

Arrival/Departure

1. You are responsible for booking and paying for your travel to and from the start and end locations specified in the trip itnerary.

2. The trip begins the morning of Day 1, if you arrive a day earlier you are responsible for your own accomodations that night.

3. The trip ends on the return to the trip starting point, typically 5:00 pm on the last day. If you choose to stay over that night, you are responsible for your own accomodations.

4. We can assist with pick-up and drop-off on the trip beginning and end days, please email us with your travel details and what assistance you need. We can also help with lodging booking on the night before and the night after the trip. Go to the About Jody page and use the submission form at the bottom to send us your request.

Equipment

We supply the following;

1. The Trip Leader/Tour Guide. Please obey your Trip Leader, they will generally not tell you to do something unless it really needs to be done, and when they tell you to NOT do something, please obey and remember that you are traveling in a wilderness to semi-wilderness environment where Mother Nature and her representatives, the Weather and the Grizzly, are the true bosses.

2. The van. Your home away from home, please treat it with the same care.

3. All camp food, and the necessary cooking tools.

4. Tents.

You need to bring the following:

1. Suitable outdoor clothing for hot to cold weather, including rain gear. Suggestions include; thigh-length rain jacket, pile pullover, pile vest, long sleeve shirts, one wool one cotton, t-shirts, wool hats for Alaska and high-altitude trips, and hats with sun visor for all trips, cotton underwear in a suitable quantity, shorts for hiking, for sleepwear, and for jumping into the water, long pants for cool days, most nights, and walking in thick brush, and as many pairs of good quality wool socks as you can carry. Polypro underwear, long sleeve shirt and long pants, are a huge plus for Alaska trips. And some of the newest wicking-type shirts can be wonderfuly comfortable in warmer weather.

2. Suitable footwear for extended walking in difficult terrain, plus light weight running or walking shoes for around camp and in the van.

3. Good comfortable day pack with pockets for your sun cream, bug repellent, sunglasses, water bottle, utility knife, room for any toys you bring such as binoculars or cameras, and enough space to carry your rain jacket, spare dry socks, pullover or vest.

4. Personal toiletry items including any drugs or pills that you need. NOTIFY your trip leader if you are on any prescription medications and show them where they can be found in case of emergency.

5. Personal campware, including cup, plate/bowl, utensils.

6.Sleeping bag - except for summer desert trips, any other Alaska or Utah trip requires that the bag be rated to freezing or just below - and a good sleeping pad.
