Photo Tours- Land and Sea

Rich Reid of "Colors of Nature" and JY Travels are on the road with "Land and Sea" photography tours.

This tour combines the best of Alaska's interior and coastal photo opportunities, and builds on the extensive experience of both Jody and Rich to provide outstanding photo and recreational experiences.

Rich Reid
Rich Reid is an accomplished professional nature photographer who has been guiding camping and photography tours for ten years. His adventures and assignments have taken him to distant places like New Zealand, Alaska, Mexico and Hawaii. Rich says he enjoys balancing his time guiding nature enthusiast throughout Alaska and his private time on assignment or shooting stock. His work has appeared in many publications, including National Geographic, Nature's Best, Audubon, Nature Conservancy and Outside plus is represented by National Geographic Image Collection stock agencies. The National Park Service has utilized his photography in a conservation effort to protect the Gaviota Coast in California and currently working towards the creation of a National Seashore.

When Rich is not guiding tours or on assignment, he enjoys adventure trips with his wife, Gloria. Some of their adventures have taken them kayaking in Baja, backpacking in Maui and rafting in Alaska. Currently, Rich and Gloria reside in Ojai, California and divide their time between summers guiding in Alaska and winters surfing in California. 2007 - LAND AND SEA PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

   This tour combines the excitement of traveling through some of the most beautiful counrty in north America and allows for focus time, with you and your photography in mind.

               DAY 1  Meet in Anchorage, then drive along the Turnagain Arm to Whittier. There we'll board the ferry for a scenic ride through the Prince William Sound to Valdez.

               DAY 2 In the morning we'll cruise the "Sound", with breath taking views of Chugach Mts., with sea otters and eagles as our guides. With an afternoon taking in Alaskan light.

               DAY 3 - 5 We drive up over Thompson Pass leaving the Chugach behind, with the towering beauty of the Wrangell-St Elias Mts. before us. Here we have two full days to photograph and explore this beautiful World Heritage Park.

               DAY 6 Todays drive takes us towards the Alaska Mt Range , where caribou roam and moose drink up the solitude. We'll camp at Tangle Lakes and hope to hear a loon.

               DAY 7  The Denali Highway was the original road to Denali National Park. We'll take our time, and take in all this journey has to offer.

               DAY 8 - 9 This is where we see the big Grizzly bear that makes Denali  their home. With a full day tour, we have plenty of time to photograph or just watch as we travel through this "great' park.

               DAY 10 Between the scenery, time with new friends and the food, todays ride back to Anchorage is filled with memories and smiles............. 

               INCLUDES: Three nights lodging, all campground fees, National Park entrance fees, Denali Park shuttle bus, Kennicott Mine tour, Whittier to Valdez ferry, charter boat in Valdez, all ground transportation and ALL MEALS

                  OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES depending upon the day. These are not included in the base price and may involve extra cost.
