WOMENS WORKSHOPS
A skill- and confidence-building tour, focusing on
hiking, kayaking, ice climbing, and rafting.

DAY  1  ANCHORAGE  to  SEWARD
        We depart Anchorage and drive along the Turnagain arm, over the Chugach Mts on our way to the port city of Seward. Located on Resurrection Bay, surrounded by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
DAY  2  SEWARD
         Today we pack our daypacks and hike the 2000 vertical feet to the spectacular Harding Ice Field. Focusing on the "climbers step" , we'll lunch with mountain goats and have time for an evening cruise for some whale watching....
DAY  3  FERRY to VALDEZ
          Making our way to the Portage Glacier, we then travel by ferry through the Prince William Sound and end our day in the port city of Valdez.
DAY  4  VALDEZ
          Gear up and go out on the water taxi to Shoup Bay where we'll paddle and play. We'll camp out this night with the sounds of distant glaciers.
DAY  5  VALDEZ
          After a morning hike, we'll paddle with sea otters until the taxi picks us up. Once back in town we'll have time to explore this fishing village and gear up for our next adventure.
DAY  6  DRIVE to the WRANGELL ST. ELIAS Mts
          This journey will bring Thompson Pass, the Worthington Glacier and the Chugach Mts.Our drive will end with the beautiful Wrangell Mts and the quaint village of McCarthy.
DAY  7  KENNICOTT GLACIER
          Gear up and hike out over the glacier to Donahoe Peak, where we'll focus on back country camping and hike up to unparalled views.
DAY  8  KENNICOTT GLACIER
          Breaking camp and hiking back across the glacier, we'll stop for some ice climbing, an experience sure to take you to new heights.
DAY  9  MATANUSKA RIVER
          We leave the Wrangells behind and stop at the Matanuska river for an evening raft and salmon bake.
DAY 10 ANCHORAGE
          Today we make our way back to Anchorage along the Knik arm of the Cook Inlet. We'll arrive with enough time to explore the city and an evening to remember.

This adventure is designed to take you where you've always wanted to go but weren't sure how. Building the skills and confidence needed to help you with your next big adventure.

This trip is considered moderate to strenuous....feel free to ask the questions to help access your ability and desires.  Its amazing what you can do, if you just takes the steps and try........

2007 Price: approx. $1895, subject to change with 2007 lodging/travel rates
